Lauren was born in Greenville, South Carolina, but quickly made the move to Texas
with her family at the age of eight. At a young age, she discovered her love for
music and theatre and knew she wanted to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
Lauren spent most of her school days singing in the choir, acting in area plays,
rescuing animals, and participating in many community service projects with her family.
2005 and 2006 turned out to be exciting years for Lauren. In April of 2005, She
and her younger sister, Taylor, won the titles Miss Houston USA and Miss Houston
Teen USA in the same night. It was the first time in the pageant’s 25 year history
that sisters had ever been crowned.
During her time at San Jacinto College and the University of Houston, Lauren completed an internship at KTRK- TV Channel 13. It was here she realized that TV was an exceptional fit for her. After she completed her reign as Miss Texas USA, Lauren was offered a job at Houston’s 55 as co-host and producer of “Wild About Houston”. In the summer of 2006, she created her own image consulting company as a way to mentor and coach young woman in the world of pageantry.
Lauren feels she was truly blessed the day she met her husband Andrew. They have a charming 2 year old boy named Landon. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys reading, cooking, singing, and spending time with her family, which includes her Birman cat, Blee Bla, and her new King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, Bridget.
On June 26th, Lauren captured the title of Miss Texas USA 2006 out of a pool of more than 130 contestants. As Miss Texas USA, Lauren continued to work closely with the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, Shriner’s Burn Center, Susan G. Koman Foundation, and the Children’s Assessment Center of Houston. With four generations of breast cancer in her family, she and her sister co-founded a non-profit organization called, “Coins For the Cure”. The title of Miss Texas USA proved to be the perfect vehicle to champion this organization and educate people about the prevention and detection of breast cancer. On April 21st 2006, The 55th Annual Miss USA Competition was seen live from the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, M.D. on NBC. Lauren was named a Top 10 semi-finalist.
